Hey everyone,
Our official team training has now been in swing for a full week, and we'll keep on training for the next 6 weeks as our first race looms ahead!
Here's the MWCC Spring Road race schedule:
February 27-28 Murray State
March 6-7 Lindsey Wilson
March 13-14 Depauw
March 20-21 Lindenwood
March 27-28 Southern Illinois
April 3 Marian / April 4 Easter
April 10-11 Ohio State/Ohio U
April 17-18 Michigan State/University of Michigan
April 24-25 Purdue (Regionals)
We're going to discuss at our next few meetings whether we want to travel all the way to Kentucky (Murray State) for our first race, or if we're going to wait to go to Lindsey Wilson (which is 2 hrs closer).
This year for training, we're privelaged to be able to utilize the Perry Field House for our team training. We train six days a week, with one day of cross training (usually a swim workout). Hopefully we'll enter the race season more prepared now that we have an extremely organized and efficient training schedule and more people who are interested too!
Our uniform proofs have been approved by the Athletic director, and we'll be putting the order in this weekend. Please double check your email if you're on our listserv to see instructions on sizing and such.
Hope everyone's enjoying the new semester!

Hey team,
Thanks to all of you who came out for the meeting this past thursday, and double thanks to Kate for running it! I was glad to hear that we had such a big group show.
At the meeting it was established that the fall rides we've been having on Fridays, Sundays and Tuesdays were becoming a tad daunting. Therefore, we are going to switch gears and start doing rides on an email basis. This is going to be the trend for the rest of the fall as we segue into our training for the winter. HOWEVER - we will try and keep our Sunday rides a constant for as long as we can but they will now be at 2pm. If they are cancelled, I will be sure to email everyone to let them know. We will officially stop riding on Sundays after Veteran's Day (Nov. 11).
This means that if you want to receive emails about our rides and training sessions, then you need to request to be added to our new listserv - Cycling team Training. Otherwise, this list (bgsucycling) will be used for general updates about meetings, events and other such things that don't have to do with training.
NOTE: If you're on our official roster then you have automatically been added to our Training email list, but if you are on this listserv and want to receive our training emails please let me know.
Kate and I are the only ones who have access to the new email list since we will be running training, but please email ME to be added to it.
As always, if you're interested in joining the team please email me back to get more information.
Questions or comments? Email me!

Hey everyone,
Just a reminder that we have a team meeting this THURSDAY at 8pm inside the Perry Field House. At the meeting we'll discuss the fall rides, fall fundraiser ideas, and most of all - the Homecoming Parade. We are officially a part of the parade, which starts next FRIDAY OCT. 2nd around 6pm. Usually we have to line up around 4:45 or so. We'll talk about who's going to be there, what to wear and other ideas as to what we should do while walking.
We would love to have more people show up for our rides both Fridays and Sundays! The quality of our rides on Fridays and Sundays have been good, but a few faces have started to disappear. The rides become more enjoyable as more people join us! So if you're free and you want some good, outdoor fun - please come out ![]()
As always, paperwork needs to be filled out if you are serious about being a part of our organization. I'm officially going to turn in the roster next week Tuesday, so if you want to be with us, please tell me so we can organize time to fill out paperwork! Also, we will announce the membership fee for the team this Thursday - which will be due by our next meeting (Oct. 8).
Please try to come to the meeting with ideas both for fundraisers (to help raise money for uniforms!!!) and for the homecoming parade.
As always, we ride Fridays at 6pm and Sundays at noon.
Have anymore questions? Just let me know!
See you all Thursday!

The BGSU Cycling team's first year is finally coming to an end! We accomplished a lot this year, more than most thought we would, though less than I would have hoped. With our new "Club vs. Team" guidelines set for next year, I hope that we will boost our numbers next fall and make a bigger impact on the community and the university.
Officers for next year are still being debated. We are on the look out for a new Treasurer and Vice President for next season. Due to lack of members, these positions will be filled as I see fit and not by the election process that is set out in our constitution.
I will announce these officers as soon as my decision is made.
In regards to the summer, keep up your mileage! Do as many group rides as you can, and keep up the great reputation of BGSU clubs! If you plan on racing and using BGSU as your associated team then you need to notify me in advance of the race. Even though this seems silly, I will need a full travel itinerary and post-travel summary of your race. BGSU needs to be in the know of all activities in relation to sport clubs both in and out of school semesters.
Remember that whenever your wearing our jersey you need to be setting a good example and be very sportsmen like! You are representing both our team and our university, so be responsible.
We will have a start up meeting during the first week of school in August, and will start back our fall rides as soon as possible.
Over the summer, I will work to try and get more sponsorship from the BG community since I will be here all summer. If any members feel they can help find sponsorship over the summer, please email me and I will get you the sponsorship letter and information.
Again, thanks to the team for a good start and great first year!
